The reporting gap nobody talks about
Most companies invest heavily in getting data into their CRM. Forms, integrations, required fields, workflows that enrich records automatically. The input side gets a lot of attention.
The output side gets almost none.
HubSpot's native reporting is functional. You can build dashboards, filter by properties, create custom reports. But there's a limitation that doesn't get discussed enough: HubSpot reports what the data says. It doesn't tell you whether the data is worth reporting.
If a deal has been sitting in "Negotiation" for 90 days with no logged activity, HubSpot includes it in your pipeline total at face value. Why HubSpot's native tools aren't enough
This isn't a HubSpot criticism. HubSpot is excellent at what it's designed to do. But CRM platforms are built to store and organize data. Analyzing whether that data is trustworthy, or finding the patterns that matter for revenue decisions, is a different job entirely.

Deal health is invisible. HubSpot can tell you a deal exists in a certain stage with a certain value. Forecasting is manual and subjective. Neither produces a forecast that leadership can plan around with any confidence.
Pipeline inspection requires effort that never happens. Understanding what grew, what shrank, and what stalled in your pipeline last week means pulling multiple reports and comparing them manually. Most teams skip this and go with gut feel during reviews.
